Prof. Dr. Daniel Buhr is Head of the Steinbeis Transfercenter for Social and Technological Innovation and Adjunct Professor of Policy Analysis and Political Economy at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen in Germany. He is particularly interested in digitalisation and its effects on the economy, politics and society. In doing so, he researches and teaches interdisciplinary and translateral as well as internationally comparative labour market, care and health policy as well as economic, research and innovation policy. He is a member of various commissions (e.g. “Expert Group Digitalisation in Medicine and Care” of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration of the State of Baden-Württemberg) and scientific advisory boards (e.g. scientific advisory board of the Belgian Ministry of Science BELSPO). He also advises various international organisations (e.g. OECD, European Commission, European Council), a large number of ministries in Germany and abroad, parliaments at federal and state level as well as companies, associations, trade unions and foundations. Previously, he worked for many years in the field of marketing and communication, including leading positions at an IT start-up and in medium-sized businesses, as well as for large, international corporations during his time at a management consultancy. He has also worked as a journalist and editor for various media and founded his own communications and consulting firm.
