Education and training (EDU)

Kirsten Heiland
Kirsten Heiland is a project staff member at the State Competence Center Digital Care Baden-Württemberg. She holds a degree in nursing education and has many years of experience in the field of education, training and continuing education in the nursing professions. As a lecturer at various universities in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, the further development of professional nursing is close to her heart. Central topics of her teaching activities are case management, the development of training and counseling concepts for patients and their caregivers, and the use of digital applications in direct nursing practice. In the EDU business area, she develops continuing education concepts for nurses and teachers. In doing so, it is particularly concerned with strengthening the skills of nurses in the use of new technologies and in providing individual advice to people requiring care. In the interest of good quality of care, new technologies must be used in such a way that they relieve the burden on people in need of care and their caregivers and create freedom.
